Aktaion ist eine neue serifenlose Textschrift mit 8 Gewichtungen und dazugehörigen Kursiven – erhältlich im → Type Shop!
Sie deckt alle lateinischen Sprachen ab und ist mit einer Reihe von OpenType-features ausgestattet, wie Tabellenziffern, proportionale Ziffern, kleine Ziffern, Bruchziffern, Interpunktion für Versalsatz, oder das komplette Kleinbuchstabenalphabet in hoch- und tiefgestellter Form.

— Aktaion is a new sanserif consisting of 8 weights plus their corresponding italics – go grab them in the → Type Shop!
It covers all Latin script based languages, comes with OpenType feature sets as e. g. for tabular, proportional lining or small figures (the default figures are proportional lining figures), for uppercase variants, for arbitrary fractions or for full lowercase superior & inferior letters & figures.

The design concept of the Aktaion typeface

Aktaion is not a rounded typeface, rather it plays with the saying that opposites attract. The letters are detailed with contrasting sharp edges and rounded corners, with stems having one straight side and one side with a concave shape. This lends the individual letters a gripping tension – interesting details that show up in large sizes, yet with enough reserved presence which do not distract in reading sizes.

Like my other sanserif typefaces, Aktaion stands in the tradition of the humanistic design approach, too. Because I strongly believe that this offers the best reading comfort in the sanserif genre. This new design can be seen as a less playful development of my first and a bit more informal typeface Finnegan – but with some more vigour than Agilita.
